George Verger French Retro Diamond, Ruby, Rose Quartz, Platinum and Gold Bracelet Cuff

An important French Retro, platinum and 18-karat gold bracelet with diamonds, rubies, and rose quartz by George Verger. The bracelet consists of two facing, rose quartz, multi-ball clusters with bezel-set round cut ruby tops with an approximate total weight of 1.65 carats. The solid pink gold cuff is center-hinged, and the two clusters are accented on the sides by old European-cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of 1.30 carats and calibre-cut rubies with an approximate total weight of 1 carat. The Jacques Verger workshop was a successful, behind the scenes force creating jewels for Boucheron, Cartier, Gübelin, Tiffany, and Van Cleef & Arpels, as well making his own signed pieces, like this bracelet which bears the Verger maker's marks. Verger is known for his magnificent clocks featuring strongly defined shapes, simple lines and stylized decoration. For the Haute Joaillerie he created the most elaborate fancies of form and color contrast, as we see here in this important gold and platinum bracelet.

Alligator Bangle Bracelet by Barry Kieselstein-Cord

An American late-20th century 18 karat green gold alligator bangle bracelet by American icon Barry Kieselstein-Cord. This particular bracelet, a rare example of the animal cuff in its highly-sought-after 18 karat green gold coloration and the largest and most visually complex of the three size iterations in which the piece was created, is an exciting example of the famed Alligator collection, which ran from 1988 to 1989. Barry Kieselstein-Cord is a New York institution par excellence. A graduate of Parsons School of Design, Kieselstein-Cord was a celebrated and well-awarded expert in the field of advertising. In 1972 Kieselstein-Cord opened his accessory and fine jewelry design firm with the mission to create a totally vertical American luxury company from basic concept to retail platform based on the historic precedence of French ateliers under King Louis XIV, and not dissimilar to the concept of Louis Comfort Tiffany's earliest establishment. However, Kieselstein-Cord built his firm with a unique, contemporary vision. Kieselstein-Cord has been acquired by and resides in the permanent collections of The Louvre, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Houston Museum of Fine Art and The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, among others, and has appeared in countless major publications.
