The classic cluster ring centers on an oval Ceylon pink sapphire weighing 3.87 carats, surrounded by 11 old mine-cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of 1.32 carats. French control mark. American Gemological Laboratory certificate # CS 64359 stating that the center stone is natural corundum pink sapphire from Ceylon; low temperature heating. An American Art Deco platinum ring with diamonds and sapphires. The ring has a center old European-cut diamond with an approximate weight of .50 carat flanked by 4 calibre cut sapphires, and a round-cut sapphire with an approximate weight of .57 carat flanked by 4 single cut diamonds. The ring is made as a double gypsy ring with the diamonds and sapphires in a 'ying-yang' motif of positive-negative color. Ring size 7; this ring can be sized.

A Mid-20th Century 18 karat gold cocktail/dinner ring with diamonds and turquoise by Cartier. The ring has 52 round diamonds with an approximate total weight of 3.70 carats, and 46 cabochon turquoise stones set in twisted and gadrooned gold. A platinum ring with sapphires and diamonds by Cartier. The ring centers on a .90 carat round cut diamond, G/H color, VS clarity with 20 baguette-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 2.25 carats, G/H color, VS clarity. and 20 baguette sapphires with an approximate total weight of 2.10 carats. The diamond and sapphire baguettes swirl in a twisting pattern to the center diamond.

Cartier Mid-20th Century Diamond and Sapphire Swirl Ring

Marcus & Company Art Nouveau Blue Sapphire, Old European Diamond, Gold and Enamel Ring

An American Art Nouveau 18 karat gold and enamel, sapphire and diamond ring by Marcus & Co. The ring has a cushion-cut blue sapphire with an approximate weight of 8.65 carats, and 27 old European-cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of .32 carat. The blue sapphire is most likely of Ceylon origin with no heat treatment evident. The center stone is held in place with gold tendrils that flow throughout the ring in extravagant Art Nouveau motifs. During the first decade of the twentieth century Marcus & Co. offered a variety of Revivalist style jewelry. Egyptian inspired pieces along with Renaissance Revival and Mughal style were created. The venerable firm of Marcus & Co. was established in 1892 by William, Herman and George Elder Marcus with a shop in New York. The firm distinguished itself as an early proponent of the Art Nouveau style in America, of which this ring is an exquisite example. During the Art Deco period of the 1920's, the firm continued producing fine jewels in the new Art Deco style and expanded with branches in London, Paris, and Palm Beach. Ring size: 4-1/2; this ring can be sized.
