The brooch has 22 round-cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of .50 carat, and an onyx cabochon eye. The whimsical bull was from the VCA 'La Boutique' collection, first introduced in 1954."This brilliant collection of whimsically cartoonish animal clips charmed new customers with their playful expressions and quirky compositions. Still highly detailed and made of precious metal and gemstones, the animated brooches made for great gifts and, because they were a bit more affordable than the Maison's typically pricey pieces, more people could indulge in these adorable animals. As they added more animals to the collection each year, customers soon found the need to collect these curious creatures, turning them into one of jewelry's beloved collector's items."
