Originally retailed by Carrington & Co, London, this choker/necklace/ bracelet/bandeau/headband comes with its original box and headband frame to which the necklace is attached with small screws. The necklace is composed of old-mine and old-European cut diamond set circles with stones that graduate in size from approximately .05 carats on the ends and grow progressively larger toward the middle circle which is set with approximately .15 carat old-mine and old-European cut diamonds. The necklace features 250 Old European-cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of 24.00 carats. Silver topped 18 karat gold. With signed Carrington & Co. box.

The pendant locket has 1 old mine-cut diamond with an approximate total weight of .18 carats which is surrounded by a seed pearl-set garland. The locket is suspended from an antique 18 karat chain and has a split opening with two interior compartments.

Antique Diamond, Colored Stone, and Gold Topped Silver Necklace

A French Antique 18 karat gold and silver top necklace with diamonds, peridots, grossularite garnets, pink topaz, aquamarines and chrysoberyls. The graduated, foiled colored stones are framed and spaced with rose-cut diamonds weighing approximately 4.60 carats. The closed backs are decorated with a deeply carved swirl motif. This necklace was the property of the Estate of Quincy Adams Shaw, thence by descent. He was an important businessman, having invested in copper mining. He lived in Paris in the 1850's where he became involved in the artistic world and began collecting. "Necklaces were short [in the early 19th C.]....Typically, they consisted of a rivière of gems...The strong emphasis on colour was further underlined by the technique of 'foiling' each coloured gem...." -Mascetti and Triossi. Antique Moonstone and Diamond Dress Set

An Edwardian 18 karat gold and platinum dress set with moonstones and diamonds. The set has 7 cabochon moonstones with an approximate total weight of 4.10 carats., and 86 rose-cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of .45 carat. The classically designed cluster cuff links are double sided with clasped chain connections. The 3 cluster dress studs have gold folding wing backs. Similar pictured in Cuff Links, by Susan Jonas and Marilyn Nissenson, Harry N. Abrams, 1991, page 50 (similar).

Antique Moonstone and Diamond Dress Set

French Antique Diamond, Pearl, Platinum and Gold topped Silver Set of Swallow Brooches

A set of three French Antique 18 kt gold and oxidized silver, platinum and enamel brooches with diamonds and pearls. The brooches have a combined total of 87 rose-cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of .50 carats, 4 bezel set old European-cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of .32 carats, and 3 hanging freshwater pearls. The brooches depict 3 swallows in flight. The brooches are finely engraved on the underside in a feather motif. Platinum diamond set chain connects the three swallows is removable. Fitted box. Swallows were highly symbolic in the 18th and 19th Centuries. They symbolized wanting your loved one to return home safely, faithfully, or to simply return home quickly.

Lucien Gautrait French Art Nouveau Gold Pendant with Sapphire, Diamonds and Pearl

A French Art Nouveau 18 karat gold pendant with pink sapphire, diamonds and pearl by Lucien Gautrait. The pendant has a pear-cut pink sapphire with an approximate total weight of .80 carats, 2 old European-cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of .10 carats, and a baroque pearl drop. The pendant shows an emergent woman with flowing hair and outstretched arms in a euphoric opium-induced state. (Art Nouveau chain not original to the piece.)
