Marcus & Co. Art Nouveau Opal and Gold Stick Pin

An American Art Nouveau 18 karat gold stick pin with enameling and opal by Marcus & Co. The stick pin has a cabochon opal surrounded with four enamel side sections decorated with gold relief arabesque designs. During the first decade of the twentieth century the firm offered a variety of Revivalist style jewelry. Egyptian inspired pieces along with Renaissance Revival and Mughal style were created. The venerable firm of Marcus & Co. was established in 1892 by William, Herman and George Elder Marcus with a shop in New York. The firm distinguished itself as an early proponent of the Art Nouveau style in America, of which this ring is an exquisite example. During the Art Deco period of the 1920's, the firm continued producing fine jewels in the new Art Deco style and expanded with branches in London, Paris, and Palm Beach.

The diamond plaques are separated by 6 cushion-cut rubies with an approximate total weight of 5.00 carats. With Gemoligical Institute of America certificate on one of the rubies stating Burma origin and no indications of heating.

Bulgari Art Deco Diamond and Platinum Bracelet

A French made Art Deco platinum bracelet with diamonds by Bulgari. The flexible bracelet consists of 294 round cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of 16.00 carats, 45 baguette diamonds with an approximate total weight of 6.00 carats, 2 round cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of 2.60 carats, and 8 square-cut diamonds with an approximate total weight of .60 carat. This flexible bracelet has 349 diamonds with an approximate total weight of 25.20 carats, H/Icolor, VS/SI clarity. Bulgari bracelets of the Art Deco period are extremely rare. Circa 1935. Discussed in "Between Eternity and History Bulgari from 1884 to 2009 125 Years of Italian Jewels" edited by Amanda Triossi, Skira Publishers, 200p, pages 52-60. And similar pictured in "Bulgari" by Daniela Mascetti and Amanda Triossi, Abbeville Press Publishers, 1996, page 60.
