Hector Guimard Mirror

A French Art Nouveau faux mahogany and gilt wood mirror by Hector Guimard. Guimard's mirrors are exceptionally rare, and are desired because they are particularly architectural. For this piece, Guimard decorated a traditional arch motif with foliate faux-gilt bronze work. Guimard's dedication to the Art Nouveau arabesquing line is very evident in this handsome work. This mirror is, as far as we know, a pièce unique. Circa 1900.
