ATG Features Winter Antiques Show Exhibitor Macklowe Gallery — 1/8/2018
Long-time Winter Antiques Show exhibitor, Macklowe Gallery, is featured in the January issue of Antiques Trade Gazette.
Editor Katherine Boyle sits down with President Benjamin Macklowe, who describes the “enduring appeal” of the Show and “why it’s such a special event” for the Gallery.
In the article, Ben explains that the most important thing about the show is the relationship with East Side House Settlement – a community-based, non-profit organization – and its incredible support in helping to provide quality education and resources to residents of the Bronx and Northern Manhattan.

He also discusses Macklowe Gallery’s first appearance at the Winter Antiques Show over 20 years ago; participating as one of the first dealers, during a time when it was expanding from its original Americana core. "Lots of people who are aesthetically curious have become customers of ours... every year we meet new collectors and help create new collectors, which is the name of the game for growing this business."
The close relationship between the Winter Antiques Show and Macklowe Gallery, in addition to the Gallery’s passion for, and support of Eastside House Settlement’s Cause, was no more apparent than during the Show’s Kick-Off Party – hosted at Macklowe Gallery last month.
The Winter Antiques Show will celebrate its 64th year as America’s leading art, antiques and design fair from January 19-28, 2018 at the Park Avenue Armory (Park Avenue and 67th Street).
Visitors will be dazzled by exceptional objects offered by Macklowe Gallery and 69 other renowned experts in fine and decorative arts from around the world. From Roman antiquities to works of contemporary art, every object available for purchase at the Winter Antiques Show is vetted for authenticity, date and condition.
